and caress
binding what I know already

bringing you at last

finally permitted.

that brings me to the edge
of a universe and beyond
combined with your already
considerable knowing of a female
slowly, deliberately, maddeningly
to multiple shatterings –
I lay at the edges of deepest sleep
feeling the warmth of you
that remains on the bed
and your man smells filling my
half-dreams as you wander
to the rooms below
and patiently wait to draw me back
with a simple ringing of the phone –
a kindness
on a Sunday afternoon
